The JAX Bridges value proposition

January 18, 2015

The JAX Chamber is a business membership organization dedicated to driving quality economic growth in NEFL. We know that many of our small businesses are simply one deal away from being major employers. We are also aware of how many hats they wear and the limited amount of time they have; so providing value to them when they spend time in our entrepreneurial education programs is important to us. As we open applications for our second cohort for JAX Bridges there is a familiar question that rightfully arises:

Is JAX Bridges any different than other small business programs that are currently available?

We believe entrepreneurial education in any form is a positive investment for the entrepreneur. A major distinction for us is that we capture then leverage feedback and opinions from entrepreneurs to shape our program.  Many have shared with us some of the ways they evaluate program participation opportunities.  The three most popular seem to be:

  1.     Will the education that I receive significantly impact my entrepreneurial venture?
  2.     What type of exposure will I or my business receive?
  3.     How will this program energize me or my business?

Participants in our program will answer "YES" to one or more of these questions throughout the program. In the JAX Bridges program we ask participants to describe their business with value propositions instead of telling us what they do.  And our value proposition as a program is that the JAX Chamber is in a unique position to educate, support, and connect  small businesses to business opportunities.

In speaking with entrepreneurs, our members, and supporters many have expressed concern about the quality/quantity of small business support available; much of the concern can be attributed to not knowing what is available.  However, access to capital and opportunities are urgent/underserved problems for local small businesses & entrepreneurs. The problem is unavoidable for those who have the intent and capacity to grow. While most small business support organizations focus on either-or-solutions, JAX Bridges makes the problem workable through a combination of education, relationships, and tools.

Our breakthrough program is compelling and unique because:
    1. Its disruptive
    2. We let entrepreneurs shape the experience
    3. We leverage tools for the entrepreneur.
